The fine print

Tennis rules & regulations

Courts and the practice wall are open 7am until dusk on weekdays and 8am until dusk on weekends and holidays. No play before opening times or after 8:30pm.

Courts are for tennis only: no pickleball, stickball, street hockey, roller blades, or bikes. Bring your own balls and racket (lesson balls aren’t permitted, and the club doesn’t provide rackets). Non-marking sneakers are required at all times, children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and please stay home if you’re ill.

Court time must be reserved in advance through the reservation calendar. Bookings open one week ahead, each person may hold two reservations at a time, and playing time is limited to one hour (you may rebook to extend if the court stays open). Unreserved courts, or no-shows 15 minutes past the reservation start, are first-come, first-served.

Guests are $10 per visit, up to five visits per season; houseguests are $30 per week. Pay at the pool check-in desk.

Lessons are permitted on Court 3 only; ball hitting may take place on any court. Schedule directly with the tennis pro (lessons) or tennis assistant (ball hitting). Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice, and the ball machine is encouraged for lessons.

No reservation needed. Proper footwear is required, and please limit your time to one hour if others are waiting.

Courts are kept locked; tennis members get digital padlock access through the eGeeTouch Commercial app (iPhone or Android), granted before the courts open. Pull gently when the lock releases, close the shackle once you’re in, and leave the locked padlock where the next person can find it: on top of the gate latch at the driveway gate, and on the fence to the left of the tennis court gate. If you’re the last to leave, lock both gates. A SMART FOB is available from the manager for a refundable $5 if you’d rather not use your phone.

Wear appropriate attire (shirts on, non-marking shoes). Keep voices down, silence your phone, and keep food, drinks (other than water and sports drinks), and gum off the courts. Pick up your balls and trash, never walk behind a court or retrieve a ball while a point is in play, keep courtside noise respectful, and play safe. Most of all, have fun.

Everyone uses the tennis facilities at their own risk; parents are responsible for their children at all times. Sun Valley Associates, Inc. assumes no responsibility for accidents, injury, or loss of personal property. Spot checks are conducted, and the General Manager can revoke a household’s court privileges for abuse of the rules or the courts. Rules are subject to change.
